Among Western North Carolina's favorite bands, Balsam Range will take the stage for a special Blue Ridge Music Trails Traditions Concert at the beautiful Colonial Theatre in their hometown of Canton, NC, at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

National award-winners, Balsam Range has a full house of top-notch bluegrass singers. The band's members take turns singing lead, and together sing harmonies that are full of interesting surprises while fully rooted in classic bluegrass tradition.

One of the band's most recent recordings, Papertown, won the 2013 International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Award for Album of the Year, after spending five consecutive months at the top spot on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey Chart.

This year, Balsam Range has the most IBMA award nominations in North Carolina. They have been nominated for best entertainer, best vocal group, and best instrumental group of the year, plus fiddler/singer Buddy Melton is nominated in the male-vocalist category.
