Hendersonville Little Theater Presents Mr. Green

For the first production of our 2010 season, we bring you Visiting Mr. Green, a comedy/drama by Jeff Baron.  Set in New York City, the play introduces us to Ross Gardiner, a young executive, who narrowly misses running down Mr. Green on a crowded street.  Ross is sentenced to six months community service visiting and helping Mr. Green, an elderly retired dry cleaner who has been recently widowed.  Neither man is happy with spending any time together.  As the weeks pass, however, and they get to know and like each other (grudgingly), their secrets emerge.  That’s when comedy and drama blend.  Visiting Mr. Green has been translated into 22 languages and has won numerous awards around the world.

Playing Mr. Green is Jim Parisi, a seasoned actor on both the HLT and Brevard Little Theatre stages.  Jonathon Forrester is Ross Gardiner.  He last appeared as Morris the Butler in God’s Favorite.  Glenn Musser is the director; Jim Beardsley is designing the set; Alicia Ayoub will be stage manager.

Visiting Mr. Green opens Friday, March 12, and runs for three weekends, closing March 28.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM.  The box office will open for telephone reservations on Monday, March 1.  Call 692-1082 and leave your name and phone number.
