Have you ever wondered how the variety of events that take place in your community are sustained? All of the most successful are a result of the concerted efforts of volunteers from across our community. Hendersonville’s Downtown Advisory Committee is just this type of group! Dedicated to helping support a vibrant downtown, these volunteers are involved in a variety of activities which contribute to our wonderful community and they need your help to keep them running smoothly.
To this end, the committee has formed “Friends of Downtown,” a volunteer program designed to match willing downtown supporters with the variety of special events overseen by the Advisory Committee. These events include beloved Hendersonville traditions like the Bearfootin’ Art Walk, now in its 11th year, Trick or Treat Street, the fabulous Hendersonville Holiday Tree Lighting, and the smash hit summer concert series Rhythm & Brews among others.
Whether you want to help out with Rhythm & Brews next summer, love Santa and a good tree lighting or just want to understand a little more about what we do, the “Friends of Downtown” is a great way to get involved in downtown. As we gear up for the holidays, the Advisory Committee would like to build on the tremendous success of recent downtown events by adding new volunteers to “Friends of Downtown.” Please consider contacting us to add your name to this volunteer database. Doing so will not commit you to any one event, but will allow us to make you aware of the opportunities to volunteer with downtown as they become available. And if you’re wondering about whether or not we know how to have fun let us introduce you to one of our existing volunteers! Contact us via phone or e-mail at 828.233.3216 or director@
