Fundraiser for the Families of Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Ben Hawkins and Trenton Turpin
For those who aren’t familiar with the stories of these two little miracles, here is a brief overview:
Miss Madison Hawkins (daughter of Deputy Ben and Laura Hawkins) was struck with a terrible virus, which went to her heart. She was diagnosed with viral myocarditis, and had to be emergently transported to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. She was placed on ECMO (basically the highest level of life support available). During all of this, she suffered a stroke. She pulled through, by the grace of God, and is now home, recovering with her family.
Mr. Everett Turpin (son of Deputy Trenton and Molly Turpin) was born 13 weeks early. He suffered many life-threatening illnesses during his 256 days in Mission Children’s hospital. He was on a ventilator for many of his first months of life. He is now home with his family, growing and loving life!
A fundraiser involving a Motorcycle Ride and Jeep Crawl culminating in an event at North River Farms has been planned for Saturday, July 21st. The event will include raffles, corn hole tournament, silent auction, music, BBQ dinner and more.
