Hands On!

New Additions to the Baby Place

handsHands On!, the children’s museum in downtown Hendersonville, is excited to announce new additions on  February 15th to the Baby Place sponsored by Park Ridge Heath. The additions include new babies to care for and swaddle, as well as manipulatives focused on early childhood literacy.  Practice pre-writing skills by tracing the letters of the alphabet and check out a box to use one-on-one to develop additional skills with letters and the alphabet. Several babies will be available for adoption to a good home for a donation.  All special events are free with $5 admission and are free for museum members.

“The Baby Place is a favorite exhibit among visitors at Hands On!,” said Beth Bockoven, Operations Manager. “We are looking forward to visitors enjoying the new additions and learning while they play!”

Hands On! is located at 318 N. Main Street in downtown Hendersonville.  Admission is $5 per person, and the museum is open 10-5, Tuesday through Saturday. The mission of Hands On! is to serve the needs of children and families by providing educational exhibits that stimulate the imagination and motivate learning in a fun, safe environment.  For more information about Hands On! or its programs, call 697-8333 or visit their website at www.handsonwnc.org.

Vision Henderson County Alumni Association
The next meeting of the Vision Henderson County Alumni Association will be a luncheon
Wednesday, February 29th • 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

155 Sugarloaf Road, Hendersonville

with catering by Chef Starr togo

Speaker Ken Gaylord, AIA, LEED AP, will speak on 611 Biz, a project to house and incubate upstart businesses with a green or computer software emphasis. To be located in a new green building located adjacent to the historic Landmark Hotel at the corner of Church Street and 6th Avenue in downtown Hendersonville, it is anticipated that the project will be complete and ready for occupancy in early 2013.
A prototype for 611 Biz is the Flagship in downtown Charleston. The Flagship is a project of the
Charleston Digital Corridor, and incubates technology based businesses,
many of which have developed into thriving enterprises.

The Vision Henderson County Alumni Association was developed to bring members from
previous Vision or Leadership Henderson classes together. This is a great opportunity for
Vision graduates to meet other Vision graduates, network, and stay up-to-date
on happenings within our community.

Cost to attend the luncheon is $20 which includes lunch, the presentation,
networking and a donation to the John L. Boyd Scholarship Fund.

Registration is requested by calling the
Henderson County Chamber of Commerce at 828.692.1413 or via email.
