On September 11, 2010 at 7:30pm the Absolute Theatre Company with the Skyland Performing Arts Center will host a benefit concert with “Heartsong” Pam & Don McMahon with a tribute to 9/11.  This night will feature music, poetry, and the heart wrenching story of the honoree, Mr. Ali Bourequat (Pronounced Boor-ka).

At the first of February in 2009, Hendersonville quietly received a new resident.  He went about his way to again build a life and again start over.  Ali Bourequat arrived here from Huston, Texas.  Ali was born a French national and a Moroccan native who was given American citizenship and political asylum in 1993. WTZQ Rates High with Listeners

2010 National Radio Survey Shows Local Station WTZQ With

Significant Increase in Listeners

July 26th – The Arbitron Inc. radio ratings and media research firm 2010 survey for Henderson County shows that local radio station WTZQ AM-1600 has had an increase in cumulative number of unique listeners age 35 and up by approximately 4,000 in the last two years. Every age demographic in Henderson County showed a significant increase in listenership for WTZQ. “This is great news for our radio station and it's annual advertisers” said Managing Vice President and General Manager, Mark Warwick. “This study is black and white proof that our philosophy of serving our community first is working. We play music that most radio stations have forgotten about and people seem to love it! This huge increase in listenership over the last couple of years is due in part to a great staff of people who work very hard to make sure that WTZQ is making a difference in our community, as well as to a great group of loyal listeners and advertisers who have shared WTZQ's story with their friends and family.” The 2010 study shows that WTZQ is now the number one ranked Henderson County radio station for adult listeners age 35 and up. Arbitron is the leading consumer research company in the U.S. that collects listener data on radio audiences. 2010 Radio County Coverage is based on fieldwork from 2009.
