Sharon P. Stokes
Saturdays 9 a.m. - Noon
Originally, from Birmingham, Alabama, Sharon spent enough time in Mississippi to officially rededicate it as her home state. She moved to Hendersonville almost eight years ago on a whim. After having spent time at Flat Rock Playhouse as an actor in To Kill A Mockingbird, she loved the natural beauty of the mountains so much, she wanted to see it everyday.
Sharon is a graduate of Mississippi University for Women with a double major in Microbiology and Theatre. “I’m a glutton for punishment and I couldn’t make up my mind – so I did both.” Theatre has been her principal work arena, and currently she is the Public Relations Coordinator of Flat Rock Playhouse.
A love of music and an interest in technology drew her toward WTZQ, where she has filled many spots from Office Assistant to Voice Talent. As a novice to Radio and Broadcasting, she is very honored to be working alongside the professionals of WTZQ.
She can be found performing at Flat Rock Playhouse, area theatrical venues, playing music with her good friends TaNia Battista & Duke Domingue (they call themselves Lil Debbie, Moon Pie and RC Cola – cause they’re so sweet!), spending time with young people, and volunteering for various community service functions. Or…going to plays, movies, concerts and museums, reading, listening to music and sitting outside (if it’s not too cold).
“Most people think I’m a party girl, what do you think the “P” stands for - but actually I’m quite bookish and quiet. I’m a very fortunate person and very thankful that I get to do all these fun things – all in the name of work!”
