Candlelight Supper in the historic farmhouse @ Johnson Farm

February 15, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The winter months may be cold, but Historic Johnson Farm will be warm and cozy on February 15 for a Candlelight Supper in the historic farmhouse.

The evening will start at 6:00 PM with a tour specializing on the summer boarder’s experience at the farm from the years 1913-1958. Then guests will sit down in the 1890 era farmhouse where Chef Lisa Wilson, of Savory Thyme Personal Chef, will be cooking a dinner that Sallie Johnson herself may have cooked in the mid-20th century for summer guests staying at the farm. Guest will dine on pork tenderloin with herbed cream sauce, scalloped tomatoes, corn fritter, maple pecan green beans, and pound cake and ice cream. Registration is required since space is limited.

Tickets are $100 per couple for the evening, and the proceeds benefit the non-profit Historic Johnson Farm, owned by the Henderson County Public Schools and managed by the Henderson County Education Foundation, Inc. The farm is located at 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC. The property was a gift to area schoolchildren and the community by the late Vernon and Leander Johnson. It features 10 historic structures on 15 acres of forest, field and stream.

For more information or to make reservations, call the farm office at 828-891-6585, email jfarm@hcpsnc.org or visit www.historicjohnsonfarm.org.
