On Saturday, July 16 from 10-12am (rain date, July 17,12-2pm), First Congregational United Church of Christ,1735 Fifth Avenue W. (fcchendersonville.org) invites the community to contribute to a contact-free, school supplies drive-thru benefitting the county’s students and educators. (hendersoncountypublicschoolsnc.org) Some useful supplies are backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, paper, notebooks, glue sticks, facial tissues, construction paper, highlighters, sticky notes, copy paper, batteries, hand sanitizers and cash/checks. Buying these supplies for one or more children/class really impacts a persons’s income, which these days is already stretched to the limit.

For donors wishing to provide financial support, which goes further than tangible items with the school system’s purchasing power, checks should be payable to “FCC-School Supplies.” Participants should drop off items in the church parking lot. All donated items will be sorted and delivered by FCC members. Any people wishing to assist at drive are welcome & should contact wdsiii333@gmail.com.
