Historic Johnson Farm, Farm Sale

October 5, 2020 @ 8:00 am - October 10, 2020 @ 3:00 pm

The buildings at Historic Johnson Farm were closed this spring and summer, but exciting work was happening inside. Staff and volunteers worked on inventorying and cataloging original artifacts in the historic farmhouse and other buildings. Along the way, they discovered a number of items that were not original to the house or the Johnson Family that were taking up needed space. The farm will be selling these items during the Farm Sale October 5-10 from 8 AM-3 PM each day. All proceeds will benefit the farm’s General Fund which helps maintain the historic buildings, provide educational programming, and manage the day-to-day operations of the non-profit organization.

Sale items include a wide variety of pieces, both old and new. Mugs, dishes, hats, holiday décor, baskets, and more are included. Most everything is under $5, and cash and card are accepted.

The sale will take place inside the Interpretive Center, and masks are required for entry. A limited number of people will be allowed in at once to prevent overcrowding.

Historic Johnson Farm is located at 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC 28791.  It features 15 acres of forest, fields, and streams, 10 historic structures, animals and picnic tables. The farm was a gift to schoolchildren and the community by the late Vernon and Leander Johnson.
