Saluda’s Orchard Inn has teamed up with Saluda’s Sister City organization to highlight Italian cuisine and wines. The weekend of September 19-21 the Orchard Inn will present “Italian Night” and donate 10% of the proceeds to Saluda Sister City.
The four-course dinner, created by Executive Chef Aaron Edwards, will feature traditional Italian dishes with three to five choices for each course. There will be wines paired with each course available by the glass or bottle. The dinner is $69 plus tax and gratuity. Wine is extra and optional.
Marianne and Marc Blazar at the Orchard Inn have been supportive of Saluda’s Sister City Program since its inception. They hosted the mayor of Carunchio and his entourage for 4 nights in March of 2017 and introduced this year’s exchange student, 17-year-old Benedetta Formisano, to Sunday brunch “American style.” Marianne Blazar pointed out that “Marc and I feel it is our role in the community to support our local non-profits which offer so much to our citizens. Sister City had focused its attention on our Saluda Elementary School, and we feel that opening the eyes of children in our small town to the larger world cannot help but make them better citizens when they are grown.”
The Orchard Inn Restaurant, Newman’s, has been awarded Trip Advisor’s “Certificate of Excellence” and Open Table rates them as the No. 1 restaurant in Western NC.
