JANUARY DEADLINES ANNOUNCED FOR ARTISTS AND SPONSORS FOR 2019 ARTSCAPE BANNERS IN DOWNTOWN HENDERSONVILLE
A few sponsorship opportunities are still remaining for those wishing to sponsor a banner in the 2019 ArtScape Banner project in downtown Hendersonville. And the deadline is looming for artists to submit their applications to show in the 2019 exhibit.
Sponsors and Supporters Get Noticed
The deadline for sponsor opportunities is January 15, and sponsorships are $225 per banner. Banners can be sponsored by individuals, businesses, galleries, and others to show support for the ArtScape outdoor art exhibit, which has become a popular draw for students, tourists, and local art enthusiasts. The sponsor’s name will be clearly visible on each banner and will be listed with the sponsored artwork in the extensive ArtScape Banner Project brochure. Sponsors will receive their banners at the end of the showcase year. Only 40 banners will be produced. 40 Artists Will Be Chosen By Outstanding Jurors
January 18, 2019 is the deadline for artists to submit their work, application, and entry fee of $35 to be considered for the juried 2019 ArtScape show.Artists must live in Henderson County and be 18 years or older. This is an outstanding opportunity for artists’ work to be on public exhibit in an outdoor art gallery from April 2019 to March 2020 and to be included in the 4-color brochure with artists’ names and artwork and sponsor listings. The jurors for the show are Susan Leidy, Deputy Director, Collections and Exhibitions, Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia, and James V. Current Outdoor Exhibit
The current banners of outstanding artwork along Main Street, the downtown avenues, and Historic Seventh Avenue will be replaced by the 2019 selection of artwork in April.
ArtScape Hendersonville is a community-building project adding interest and color to the downtown area, showcasing locally created art and helping make the city an exciting and unique art destination. The annually changing selection of banners on Main Street, Seventh Avenue, and the downtown side streets creates a unique twist on an outdoor gallery experience.
