The Arts Council of Henderson County presents its third annual spring fund raiser, Grape Escape, on Saturday, March 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodlands Gallery, 419 N. Main St., Hendersonville NC. This event is a drop-in wine and cheese pairing, with music provided by Josh Dunkin and Daniel Sage. Tickets are $30/person, or $50/couple.
The Grape Escape event will raise funds for the Arts Council and its Artists-In-Schools program. The Artists-In-Schools program places qualified visiting artists in all disciplines into the county schools, upon request, to enrich and support Common Core curricula, and to enhance the cultural experiences of students.
From 2013 to 2018 a total of $38,966 in funds from Henderson County enabled the Arts Council to provide over 1,200 hours of art and cultural activities to over 14,500 students in Henderson County. Henderson County government has steadily reduced funding for this program since 2016. Grape Escape III will offer a delightful local wine and cheese experience.
