The Feast of St. John Celebrating Flat Rock

June 27, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Feast of St. John Celebrating Flat Rock
The Episcopal Church of St. John in the Wilderness and the Village of Flat Rock have stories that are intertwined from their earliest days. The founders of Flat Rock and the first members of the parish were often one and the same. Over the decades, both parish and village
have grown up and changed, but the connection between St. John and Flat Rock is undeniable.

As a parish community, the church is overwhelmed with gratitude at the beauty and wonder of Flat Rock and its residents. In order to express gratitude, the church would like to offer a gift to Flat Rock and the larger Henderson County community this year. The feast day of the church’s patron saint, St. John the Baptist, is in the last week of June each year. This year, St. John is inviting the community in Flat Rock and beyond to celebrate together. The event takes place Sunday, June 27, from 5:00-8:00pm at Hubba Hubba Smokehouse. Live music will be played by local bluegrass band Pretty Little Goat.
Entry is free. BBQ and drinks will be available for purchase and guests need to bring their own chairs. The celebration will be welcomed, especially after the year everyone has experienced. As the community reconnects with one another, the family affair also features
yard games for children.

Concerning COVID-19 restrictions, “Check with local and state authorities at the time of the event for best practices regarding COVID-19 precautions,” said Reverend Josh Stephens, Rector.
