Summer is coming and so is the Mountain Jewish Festival.
Agudas Israel Congregation is presenting its third Mountain
Jewish Festival on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 12:00 to
4:00pm at the Synagogue (505 Glasgow Lane,
Hendersonville).
What is the Mountain Jewish Festival? The festival is targeted
to anyone interested in learning and experiencing Jewish
culture as well as tasting some traditional foods. What will be
at the festival? Food, Music, and Tradition! Taste our traditional homemade baked goods. All food items were baked In House by our
Balabusta Bakers. Items available for sale include Mandelbread, Hamantashen, Rugalach, Matzah
Ball Chicken Soup, Kugel (noodle pudding), braided Challah, along with freshly made traditional Egg
Cream Soda and more. In addition, Pastrami & Corned Beef sandwiches will be available. Food is
available for sale to enjoy under the tent while listening to music or take home some goodies to enjoy
later. Enjoy traditional music performed by Penny White, singer/song leader, Joel Helfand, Klezmer
music, Daniel Sage and much more.
Join us at 12:30 and 2:30 pm for a Sanctuary tour, which will include a look at the Torah and a Q&A
session with Rabbi Jackson. Experience a Jewish wedding at 1:30 and 3:30pm. Visit our Holiday
Festival tables. Learn about Shabbat, Passover, Rosh Hashanah and Chanukah. Taste a free sample
of the traditional foods pertaining to the holidays.
All attendees will receive a free Guidebook. The guidebook has our history, holiday explanations
and recipes. You can buy an ad whether it is promoting your business or a personal one (Just
Because, In Honor of, In Memory of). You have the words to express, not sure how it should look,
leave it to us, we will “frame it” on the page (at no additional cost).
For your convenience, this year’s festival will include free shuttle buses from off-site parking lots
(Laurel Park shopping center – look for signs); Handicapped parking will be in the Synagogue parking
lot.
FREE ADMISSION. Food tickets will be sold in advance and at the door. In addition, our Judaica
Boutique will be open and stocked with beautiful items.
