Botanist and ecologist, Ed Schwatzman will present “Transylvania County: Land of Waterfalls and… Bogs??!!” in the Transylvania County Library Rogow Room on Thursday, February 6 at 6:30 pm.

Many folks know Transylvania County as the Land of Waterfalls, a title which few could refute. However did you know that the area is also home to some of the Southern Appalachians’ most amazing mountain bogs? Transylvania County is a biodiversity hotspot in part because of these two amazing natural habitats. Explore the unique aspects of waterfalls and bogs with Ed Schwartzman, author of “An Inventory of the Natural Areas of Transylvania County.”
