On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Mills River Presbyterian Church will host the Church Chat session “Don’t Get Scammed.” Rescheduled due to the ice storm in January, this informative talk will feature Captain Darrin Whitaker and Captain Scott Galloway of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office as the guest speakers.
Starting at 7:00pm in the church’s Fellowship Hall, the District Captains will provide insights on how to recognize and deal with online, phone and in-person scams. They’ll also provide personal safety tips that are beneficial to people of all ages.
The Church Chat series at Mills River Presbyterian Church is open to the public. Held on a bi-monthly basis, each one-hour chat deals with information on relevant topics to area residents.
Many people were interested in the “Don’t Get Scammed” topic when originally intended for the January session. The new date allows even more people to attend to learn about ways to protect themselves from scammers. All are welcome to attend.
Mills River Presbyterian Church is locations at 10 Presbyterian Church Road in Mills River, off of School House Road. People of all ages are invited to the free presentation.
