Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra Announces, HSO Family Concert and Youth Arts Fair

February 21 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free – $20

The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra is presenting a
special concert filled with timeless classics and music for all ages on February 21st starting at
2pm, with the concert at 3pm. It is all happening at Blue Ridge Community College’s Thomas
Auditorium.
This year also marks the second annual HSO Youth Arts Fair, where you can discover what the
Hendersonville arts community has to offer for your children. It is a fantastic opportunity for
families to enjoy and get involved in the local arts scene.
“It is time for families to get unplugged together, says Paul Conroy, Executive Director. This
performance promises to be a delightful journey through some of the most beloved pieces in
classical and cinematic music.”
Prepare to be enchanted as the orchestra performs Peter the Wolf, a delightful symphonic tale
that will be beautifully narrated by the talented Scott Treadway of Flat Rock Playhouse. This
timeless story, paired with the evocative music of Sergei Prokofiev, will transport you into a
whimsical world where each character comes to life through the orchestras melodies.
The program also showcases exquisite works by renowned composers such as Tchaikovsky
and Georges Bizet. The whimsical and vibrant music of Jacques Offenbach will add a playful
flair, creating a delightful experience for everyone in attendance. The afternoon will conclude
with the powerful and energetic music from the epic Marvel film, The Avengers.
This year, we are excited to again include the HSO Youth Arts Fair, a celebration of creativity
and artistic expression designed for children of all ages. The Youth Arts Fair will showcase
several area arts organizations that will be there to share information about their programs
designed to enrich our community’s creative youth. We believe that by nurturing creativity in our
youth, we are investing in a vibrant cultural future for everyone.
On hand at this year’s Arts Fair will be the Hendersonville Ballet, HSO Youth Chorus, Jam Kids
of Henderson County, Summer Strings Camp, Hendersonville Library, Hendersonville
Symphony Youth Orchestra, WNC Piano Camp at Freeburg Piano and the Arts Council of
Henderson County.
For reserved tickets, go to hendersonvillesymphony.org or call 828-697-5884. Tickets are $20
for adults, $5 for students and children 6 or under are FREE.

The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1971, exists to enrich the Hendersonville
and Henderson County communities with live symphonic performances and music education
opportunities for youth and adults.
