Kanuga invites the community to welcome spring with music and self-reflection during a three-day “Wild Sanctuary Retreat: Contemplative Spiritual Practice in the Celtic Tradition,” Friday through Sunday, March 20–22. Led by ordained interfaith minister and Celtic wisdom keeper, Simon de Voil, the retreat blends Celtic music and traditions with creative workshops, nature and prayer to deepen participants’ connections with the divine. Surrounded by lilting spring birdsong and the gently lapping waters of Kanuga Lake, participants are encouraged to listen for the voice of the divine in the beauty of the natural world in three days of guided workshops and events.

The retreat begins on Friday, March 20 with a Spring Equinox Concert on the outdoor labyrinth (weather permitting). Each day of the retreat includes a blend of wisdom teachings, morning and afternoon sessions of contemplative practices including song, chanting, and silence, and ample personal time for reflection, rest and exploration. Each day closes with Birdsong Vespers, an inclusive, informal outdoor musical worship service in nature (weather permitting).

Attendance cost for Wild Sanctuary Retreat is calculated during online registration, depending on participants’ lodging selections.  Because Kanuga’s goal is to welcome all who wish to attend, need-based financial assistance and payment plans are available. Apply for assistance at checkout.
