The City of Hendersonville invites the community to attend
and participate in the 2026 Hendersonville Housing Summit.
This free event will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the
Hendersonville High School auditorium located at 1 Bearcat Blvd.
The evening will feature an unveiling of the City of Hendersonville’s community-driven Strategic
Housing Plan, an overview of new housing initiatives, and an opportunity to provide input
to strengthen collaboration around housing affordability challenges.
The summit is free and open to non-profit service providers, business representatives, government
leaders, developers, lenders, affordable housing advocates, community members, and anyone
committed to expanding and improving housing in Henderson County and across Western North
Carolina.
This is the second housing summit hosted by the City of Hendersonville. The inaugural summit was
held in 2024 as a kick-off for local government strategic housing planning efforts. Hendersonville High
School has been a key collaborator in making the summits possible.
The City’s Strategic Housing Plan was developed with guidance from City Council and a volunteer
steering committee made up of community stakeholders and housing providers. The plan was
informed by the UNC School of Government’s Development Finance Initiative (DFI) housing needs
assessment, affordable housing expert Shane Phillips, and extensive community input from
Henderson County residents. Funding for the plan was provided through a grant from Dogwood
Health Trust.
