Local Artist Showcase is the premier, local music radio show in Henderson County with thousands of people tuning in every Friday and Saturday afternoon to listen to great local bands and musicians. You can catch Izzi Hughes every Friday at 5PM and Saturday at Noon on WTZQ. As a local, actively gigging musician herself, Izzi is passionate about promoting local artists, venues, and the overall music community in Western NC.

In Memory of Steve Durose:
Izzi Hughes and Steve Durose started cohosting Local Artist Showcase in February of 2023. Not a show went by where Izzi wasn’t belly laughing at something Steve said, or learning a new piece of music trivia. Steve passed away unexpectedly after receiving an aggressive cancer diagnosis in November of 2024. He is deeply missed, but his spirit still lives on in the show each week. The below show was recorded in the weeks after his death with Steve’s dear friend and musical partner, Josh Dunkin.
