Author book signing and release of new book

March 5, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Author Renee Kumor’s River Bend Chronicles has a new addition – her 14th volume in the series is entitled Girlfight.  The story starts with an investigation of a questionable nonprofit agency with a suspicious mission statement.  An assassination attempt during the investigation reflects the usual circumstances of events in the town of River Bend — murder, mystery, and mayhem.  Along with intertwined romances, in this newest book, there is obviously a knock-down, drag-out scuffle between two women.   Kumor will explain further at a book-signing/reading/discussion of Girlfight on Thursday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at The Brandy Bar, 504 7th Avenue East, in Hendersonville.

Kumor will read from her book, enjoy book-signing, and have books for purchase. The event is open to the public at no charge.  Attendees are invited to support the local small business venue by purchasing beverages and snacks.

Kumor’s on-going saga in her 14-volume River Bend Chronicles includes whodunit mysteries and, frequently, passionate alliances, all within the circumspect world of nonprofit organizations.  Described in the trade as Cozy mysteries, also referred to as “cozies,” Kumor’s style is in a subgenre of crime fiction often described as “gentle” crime novels.  Those who haven’t yet been introduced to Kumor’s unique storyline will be rewarded at the upcoming event with her insights and personal reflections of how she comes up with her cast of characters and situations.

All the stories in the River Bend Chronicles take place in the fictional small-town community of River Bend, a place not very different from the small town where Kumor has lived for nearly 40 years.  In Girlfight, the investigation by amateur detective Lynn Powers raises concerns about the credibility of the questionable nonprofit. The nonprofit’s leaders plan an assault that ends with Danny, a detective, shot, Nancy shot, and Mars with a broken nose and other wounds.  Nancy and Cory are arrested while Danny and Mars are hospitalized.

This story unfolds during Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas … and the River Bend gang of characters finally welcomes in the New Year.

All Kumor’s books are published by Absolutely Amazing eBooks, and are available through independent bookstores, and online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other outlets in both hard copy, paperback, and e-book versions.  Visit www.reneekumor.com for more information.
