Bag Lunch Arts Series “A Spiritual Journey Through Egypt’s Sacred Sites”

The 2019 Bag Lunch Arts Series continues in June with “A Spiritual Journey
Through Egypt’s Sacred Sites”, presented by Peggy Moore. The program begins at 12
noon on Tuesday, June 18th in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library and
is made possible by the Friends of the Library.
Join Peggy Moore for a visual presentation and tour through the amazing sacred
sites of ancient Egypt. The tour will include the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, the Perfect
and Imperfect Pyramids of Dahsur, as well as the Egyptian Museum, Blue Lotus Water
Gardens, and the Sufi Whirling Dervishes. In Luxor, the Karnak Temple complex, Luxor
Temple, and mosque. Other sites include the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamun’s
tomb, Habou Temple, and Rasmmussen Temple, as well as the Valley of the Queens,
Hatshepsut’s Temple and Hathor’s Temple. Finally on the River Nile there’s the Temple
of Horus in Edfu.
Peggy Reeder Moore is a life-long student of spiritual and metaphysical studies
and has led trips to the mounds, standing stones, and sacred sites of Ireland, Scotland,
Wales and England, and most recently, a trip to Egypt. Currently at Osher Life Long
Learning Institute at University of North Carolina, she teaches courses in Celtic
Spirituality, Ireland’s Sacred Sites and meditation. She has led workshops in stress
management, teacher training, herbal nutrition, metaphysical studies, and religious
teachings. Her formal academic studies led to degrees in behavioral sciences and
religious studies with graduate work and research in social sciences, behavior
management, education administration, and special education.
