Hits from three decades of rock-and-roll will reverberate around the streets in historic downtown Hendersonville on Friday, July 20, when Flashback returns to the stage at Music on Main. The concert, held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Visitor Center at 201 South Main Street, is a great way to kick off the weekend with free, family-friendly fun.
Flashback is a five-piece, Asheville-based band that showcases rock-and-roll hits from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The band’s playlist includes classics from Bruce Springsteen, the Foo Fighters, Bryan Adams, the Black Crows, Styx, the Doobie Brothers and many other bands. Concert-goers just might hear Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name,” the Eagles’ “Take it Easy,” Van Halen’s “Dance the Night Away,” Toto’s “Hold the Line,” Foreigner’s “Juke Box Hero” or Journey’s “Open Arms.”
Music on Main is presented in conjunction with the Classic Car Show, held in front of the Visitor Center (between Allen and Caswell Streets) at the same time as the concert. Dozens—sometimes more than 100—car owners drive in their vintage and antique cars for the popular show. NOTICES FOR CONCERT-GOERS: Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair. Concessions are available for sale. The audience seating area opens after 5:30 p.m.; early admission is prohibited. Visitors should leave pets at home because city ordinances prohibit animals in the event area. No alcoholic beverages, backpacks or coolers are allowed. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed one hour; if the weather doesn’t improve by 8:00 p.m., the performance will be cancelled.
