Rhythm & Brews Concert Series in Downtown Hendersonville NC debuts headliner Urban Soil, hailing
from Raleigh, NC, on Thursday, July 19 at 7PM. The five member band is well known for weaving
Americana, rock and soul into an explosive live show with uncompromising energy.
Fronting the band is Christiane Smedley on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Guitarist and vocalist, Eric
Chesson delivers forceful and driving components with every lick, and offers steadfast vocals. Greg
Meckley’s skillful violin, vocals and percussion playing blends tight layers and bright sounds that solidify
the band smoothly against driving guitars. Holding down the rhythm section, Jonathan Wilson and Leo
Kishore provide a concrete foundation on drums and bass respectively.
Local band Modern Day Society opens at 6PM performing original material as well as hits from the
1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s to modern day. Michael Ridenour, one of the original Rhythm & Brews
organizers, performs on guitar along with vocalist Angelo Ortiz, bass player Kevin Lampson and
drummer Don Gillmer.
Singer-songwriter Bobby Wynn starts the evening off at 5PM with his soulful and bluesy sound.
Rhythm & Brews features great local foods, homemade ice cream, craft beers, hard ciders and wines
which is sure to please a hungry and thirsty crowd. R&B is a family friendly event with activities for
children at the Hands On! Children’s Museum booth and cool fun in the National Guard misting machine
tent.
The concert is located in Downtown Hendersonville NC on South Main Street between Allen and Caswell
Streets. Admission is free!
