The bands involved perform in WNC at area venues on a regular basis; however some
people do not have the opportunity to go see all of them live. This event will showcase
each act with a 40 minute set, introducing new fans to acts they have never heard and
giving them just enough to know what each band is all about.

The main ideas behind this event are to bring the best hard working bands in WNC
together in on event for a great cause to support Blue Ridge Humane Society. It is also a
great chance to network for the artists, music fans, sponsors and receiving charity
within the community and to gain new support from cross promoting each other. Blue
Ridge Humane Society was chosen because it has such a wide range of support
throughout the WNC community already and everybody loves animals!

The Artisan of Flat Rock has established itself as a unique area venue hosting some
bigger shows to include Malcombe Holcombe, Kip Winger (Winger), Kevin Kinney (Drivin’
and Cryin’), Michael Sweet (Stryper) and John Corabi (Motley Crue/The Dead Daisies).
Festival organizer Christian Justus wanted to have the event in a different kind of venue
than most acts would normally perform in, drawing new and different people to the
event while bringing regular fan bases together to one event. The Artisan is more of a
concert hall, relaxed environment in essence combining both bar and brewery
atmospheres, but still remaining original in its own right. For this, the Artisan was the
perfect choice, and it was agreed to hold the festival there. There are potential plans to
make this event annual, rotating the line up each year.
