Smart Start Partnership for Children, along with our partners are pleased to announce an event celebrating the launch of Sesame Street in Communities in Henderson County. The Smart Start Sesame Street Party will be held on Main Street in Downtown Hendersonville between Allen Street and Caswell Street on Saturday, August 20th from 9 a.m. to 12p.m. There will be bounce houses, food trucks, Snowballs, bubbles, hoops, free face painting, balloons, magic, and much more. Two very special Muppets, Elmo and Abby Cadabby, will be joining in as Main Street becomes “Sesame Street” for the morning. This event and family resources are specifically geared toward Henderson County families with young children (birth-Kindergarten).
Each Western North Carolina County will have its own Sesame Street in Communities launch event over the course of the next two years. Sesame Street in Communities is an initiative to support parents, caregivers, and community providers in their efforts to give all children – especially the most vulnerable- a strong, and healthy startSesame Street in Communities provides engaging songs, games, stories, activities, articles, and workshops for parents and other caregivers.
