Summer Tracks—Tryon’s most popular music series—kicks off its 25th season with Aaron Burdett and his band on June 6. An acclaimed Americana/folk singer-songwriter and performer, Aaron has been named by WNC magazine as one of the region’s most important musicians. Rick Amburgey writes in the roots music journal No Depression, “A lot of great male voices have come from North Carolina including Eric Church, James Taylor, Randy Travis and Don Williams…Aaron Burdett has proven that his name needs to be added to that list.” Aaron has also won top awards in multiple songwriting competitions hosted by the likes of Merlefest, The USA Songwriting Competition, Mountain Stage, the NC Songwriter’s Co-op, and Our State Magazine. His last four albums have been voted top 20 Albums of the Year by WNCW radio listeners. In 2022, Aaron joined the grammy-winning Steep Canyon Rangers. Aaron’s own band for Summer Tracks features Laura Ray on banjo guitar, vocals; James Kylen (drums); and Mike Ashworth (bass).
Summer Track’s six-concert series runs from June through August. More information on each show— including performers bios and photos—can be found at www.summertracks.com. All shows begin at 7 p.m. In case of rain, concerts move across the street inside Tryon Fire Dept. Lite bites, desserts and soft drinks are sold onsite by Huckleberry’s June 6, July 11, August 22 and Chef Sharone on June 20, July 25, August 8. Alcohol consumption is allowed in the park but is not for sale. A $10 suggested donation along with many local business and individual sponsors make these shows possible.
