Summer Music Concerts at the Visitor Center for the Week of July 11

July 11, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - July 15, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

The Henderson County Tourism Development Authority (HCTDA) hosts another Monday Night Live concert on July 11, 2022, followed by a Music on Main concert on Friday, July 15, 2022. All are welcome to come to the Visitor Center, located at 201 S Main Street in Hendersonville to enjoy the music at these free, outdoor concerts from 7-9pm.

This week’s Monday Night Live concert will include the music of Nu-Blue, a Bluegrass/Americana band hailing from Siler City, NC. This small-town group is made up of husband and wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh, Daniel playing multiple instruments and Carolyn on vocals, supported by Austin Hefflefinger on banjo and Justin Harrison on mandolin. Together they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads, and they do it all with a natural togetherness that can’t eb faked, forged over hundreds of shows on the road.

Friday evening’s Music on Main will feature the music of the popular local group, The Super 60s. They offer a musical retrospective of one of Americas’ most turbulent times, a period that all of the band’s members lived through. With each performance, they strive to create the atmosphere of the 1960s, through their sound and visual techniques. You are encouraged to wear your favorite tie-dye shirt and bell bottoms, and come see what all the fuss is about.

Classic car shows are held in conjunction with Music on Main every Friday. The car shows are located on South Main Street from Caswell Street to 1st Avenue, which will be closed to thru-traffic. For more information about the classic car shows, contact the Carolina Mountain Car Club, who organizes these shows, http://www.carolinamountaincarclub.com/.

The HCTDA hosts free concerts every Monday and Friday evening through August 19, 2022. Each week, bring a chair, relax, and sit back to enjoy some music. Dancing, singing along, and toe tapping are encouraged; however, early admission, alcoholic beverages, backpacks and coolers are prohibited.

Monday evening concerts rotate each with between the Street Dances and Monday Night Live! Concerts, while every Friday evening is Music On Main, which is guaranteed to offer your favorite danceable tunes from the past.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be postponed until 8pm; if the weather does not improve by 8pm, performances will be cancelled.
